Dark Angel: A Gothic Fairy
Tale
"I've always thought Beauty and the Beast had a dark side to it. Dark Angel brings that side out and makes it the star of the show. Haunting and mysterious, Gerard and his island bring an aspect of the beast to life that I hadn't seen before. Catherine was a perfect Beauty, without being too innocent. The two are a perfect match for each other from the very beginning.
Dark Angel's ending was the most magical fairy tale ending I've ever read. The perfect retelling."

"I found DARK ANGEL fascinating
to read because it's not your average historical romance. Littered
throughout the book are wonderful gothic elements. ...DARK ANGEL
is a very sensual romance between two flawed characters....a
fascinating story, highly erotic romance, intriguing supernatural
tale, and gothic mystery all rolled into one. I very much look
forward to reading more by TJ Bennett! "

"As I write this review, I have
literally just read the last few words of Dark Angel and am
absolutely besotted by the words within. T.J. Bennett blends
paranormal, fantasy, romance and historical fiction into a beautiful
novel filled with mystery and heat. Catherine is everything
you could want in a female character within historical fiction
– proper and ladylike yet spunky and strong. A wonderful addition
to the library of any paranormal or historical fiction lover,
T.J. Bennett’s mysterious and romantic writing will keep you
up late at night as you devour her words."

"Author
TJ Bennett delivers a lavish, riveting read of Gothic-imagination
with her novel Dark Angel! Should you be a fan of the classic
Beauty and the Beast I think you will enjoy this novel...Ms.
Bennett's ability to create (a) new tale of beastly romance
... caught my attention. Dark Angel is a beautiful, magic novel
of a love affair. I highly suggest giving Dark Angel and the
other novels of TJ Bennett a chance. Her writing is pristine,
inviting and a welcoming remake on otherwise classic reads."

"DARK ANGEL is a sumptuous, Gothic-inspired, fairy tale romance. If you like strong heroines, tortured heroes, sizzling romantic tension, and a well-written story, this might be the book for you.
The lush descriptions help set the scene, as well as build the characters of Catherine and Gerard.
Overall, it’s a very atmospheric read.
I’d recommend DARK ANGEL if you like romances, historical fiction, or paranormal. There’s a little something for everyone here."

"The Legacy is an excellent read. Ms. Bennett has written characters you'll fall in love with. The setting is one that is often not seen, 1525 Germany, and adds to the charm of the story. Ms. Bennett has written a romance that quickly pulls you in and leaves you eager for more. Sabina and Wolf's story of love will become a favorite of historical romance readers. TJ Bennett is an author I'm eager to read more from. The Legacy is sure to find its way onto your keeper shelf. I highly recommend this book to everyone."

"Bennett's 16th-century German setting is unusual for a romance novel, and all the drama of the Protestant Reformation, as well as the peasant riots of the era, provide a fascinating backdrop for this torrid love story. ... This is a solid historical romance from a promising debut author."

"T.J. Bennett highlights a fascinating and little-known historical period in this tender and moving love story....
Their personal dilemma transcends the historic setting and will resonate with contemporary readers. I enjoyed The Legacy's touching love story, but as a history buff, I was also intrigued by this glimpse into an era I knew nothing about."

"Secrets are kept on both sides
in this thrilling and emotional tapestry of love and betrayal...
Set in the volatile era of the Protestant Reformation, Martin
Luther's rebellion against Catholic doctrine, the beginnings
of mechanized printing presses, and the end of the feudal system,
new author T. J. Bennett's debut novel is an extraordinary look
into a fervent time in history, where romance is rare and true
love is still powerful.

"TJ Bennett has crafted a believable story of two people both longing for love and yet not trusting another enough to embrace it when they find it. The depth of the characters and their ever increasing desire for one another make The Legacy a most enjoyable read. Add into the story several unsolved questions both Sabina and Wolfgang need to answer and you have a fascinating romance destined to keep you entranced from beginning to end.
I definitely would recommend The Legacy to those readers who enjoy Historical Romance. It's well worth the time."

"I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book. It isn’t in a time or place that I usually read about,..I started the book and within a few pages I was hooked….The historical background is excellent.
Ms Bennett’s understanding of the shifting religious beliefs and their ramifications was expressed so well that it was a major part of the story but didn’t take away from Sabina and Wolf’s story.
I felt I was part of the story and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I loved this book and look forward to Ms. Bennett’s follow up book that will be out next year."

"If anyone has been looking
for a romance set in a time and place other than 19th century
England or a medieval set in England or Ireland or Scotland
or even the British Isles in general, this is a book for you.
It's set in 1525. In Saxony. That's right, it's in the Holy
Roman Empire (or the German area of Europe) and it's right after
the Protestant Reformation has started in Wittenburg after Martin
Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the church door. Talk about a
setting that's not that popular, and Bennett definitely runs
with it... I loved the history in the background of this story.
It gave a great feeling and setting to the story that brought
the period alive..."

"The Promise by author T.J.
Bennett is a follow-up to her novel The Legacy though it is
written as a stand alone story. The historical detail is both
interesting and complementary to plot advancement. A secondary
romance is worked into The Promise and in my opinion shows the
talent of the author. Adding a subplot can be tricky. But in
The Promise neither detail nor subplot takes away from Alonsa
and Günter. Their journey is the main focus of the book. Everything
blends together into one satisfying read. "

"Bennett’s second novel shares
the same 16th-century European setting as her first, as well
as the same focus on lesser-known social and political issues
of the era. The characters are appealing, and a secondary romance
between Ines, a marketwoman who travels with Alonsa, and Fritz,
a young man training to be a soldier like Gunter, is charming.
Readers who enjoy steamy historical romance in an outside-the-ordinary
setting will enjoy The Promise."

full of adventure, passion, romance and humor in a story about
the territorial disputes of the Italian wars. The pages literally
zip through your fingers in the journey to finish this wonderful

a hero you would want for yourself. The fair Alonsa is the perfect
princess who has seen many terrible days in the ten years since
her first experience of innocent love.... The other characters
are vibrant and dynamic, and the story is an emotional and fun
read....The Promise is a definite winner!"
